Meet the Governors
Mrs Diane Osborne (Foundation Governor)
I was delighted to be invited to join the Board of Governors at John Donne School, in September 2023 having been appointed by Blunham PCC. It was a privilege to be elected Chair, I also sit on the Finance Committee, the Policy Committee, and I am currently the Link Governor for Curriculum and Leadership. As you are aware during the last academic year John Donne entered into a Partnership with St. Swithun's C of E School in Sandy, where I have been a Board member for 15 years and Chair for the past 7 years. I am passionate about supporting both schools to ensure every child can reach their full potential.
Peter Holden (Foundation Governor)
I have been a PCC Governor since my children were at John Donne and now my grandchildren are also there. I am passionate about the role of the school within the local community. My long career with the RSPB involved youth and adult education, volunteering and public relations, and there are many transferable skills I can bring to the School's Governing Board. I am also Vice-chair of Blunham Parish Council.
Revd Graham Buckle (Foundation Ex-Officio)
As Rector of St James or St Edmund Church in Blunham I have a seat on the governing body.
Although this is the first time I have held such a position, my wife served as Clerk to the governors in a previous parish, and so I have some insider knowledge of how a school runs on a daily basis. I also come with an engineering background and I hope these experiences will enable me to play a part in the decisions that need to be made for the good running of the school in the future.
Mr Raymond Flatt (PCC Governor)
My name is Raymond Flatt and I moved to Blunham in the winter of January 2021. Until moving to Blunham I had lived all of my life in central London
My professional life is in two parts. Publishing greeting cards and stationery is part one while psychoanalysis takes up the whole of part two. In 1982 at age 32 I changed career. I took an interest in the therapeutic world. This eventually led to training and qualifying as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. I had a private practice as well as teaching and supervising at England’s largest therapeutic provider, retiring in 2013.
My first Governor meeting was in the winter of 2023.
Mrs Samantha Bradbury (Staff Governor)
Adam Prosho (Parent Governor)
In my day job as Global Training Director for the Integrated Laboratory Solutions division at CBRE, I am consistently seeking new and innovative ways to engage our global workforce in their own Learning & Development. Having two children at John Donne, I see this as an amazing opportunity to bring in ideas & learnings from industry into their school and ensure all pupils are best equipped for the workplace of the future!
Anita Whitehurst (Executive Headteacher)
I am part of the Governing Board in my role as Headteacher. I became Executive Headteacher in July 2022 which means I lead both John Donne and St Swithun's Church of England VC Primary School in Sandy. I have been involved in education for the last 22 years and have been a Headteacher for 11 years. I am looking forward to working with everyone at John Donne and to ensure the school becomes an even greater place to learn!
Eddie Kirk (Head of School)
I joined John Donne Primary School in September 2022, while also performing a similar role at St Swithun’s Church of England Primary School. I have been involved in classroom teaching for almost 20 years and I have also worked in a variety of school advisory and improvement roles, supporting schools and teachers on behalf of Kent and Central Bedfordshire local authorities, the Diocese of St Alban’s and as part of Redborne Teaching Partnership.
